2011 fall curriculum update.
We have implemented a revised ballet curriculum and re-evaluated students based on the new curriculum. Although we are naming the classes similarly (level II, III, IV & V) the criteria and learning objectives at each level are different from the previous ballet classes. We are excited about the new curriculum-- it implements consistency through each level so that students are learning technique more thoroughly and will progress with better technical mastery. We have also implemented injury prevention components into the curriculum with the help of Sarah Walters (who trained with SIMIO physical therapy) to assess and implement injury prevention programs for dancers. The curriculum is designed so that most students will spend 2-3 years at each level, which is more consistent and in line with standardized ballet curriculums like Vagonova and Cecchetti. We have sub-labeled the levels-- so level II is IIA, IIB & IIC etc. so students can monitor their progress through the level. All of the level IIA, IIB & II C etc. students will be in level II classes together
If your child was unable to attend the evaluation/placement class, it would be beneficial to attend a mini session over the summer to receive placement. If this is not possible, then you may register for their current level and they will be re-evaluated in the fall.

In 2012/13 Ballet I will also be added to our Graded Technique meeting 90 minutes 2x's per week. Ballet B students will be evaluated and have the option to remain in Ballet B one time a week or move into the Pre-Professional Program.
Bible curriculum.
Manners Matter! How we treat others is a reflection of Him. This year we will not only continue to focus
on scripture through dance positions, we will also take a “12 second tidy” in each class.
For the younger students, Hissy will do the reminding- that as Royal Princesses and Warrior Princes, we
are heirs to the throne and with that, we have a responsibility to represent Him well!
