TRAINING GROUND
PRESCHOOL BALLET – 3 yrs. & 4 yrs. w/ no experience
PRIMARY BALLET – 4 yrs. w/ experience & 5 yrs.
BEGINNING BALLET – 6-9 yrs.
An introduction to the beginning elements of ballet technique including proper alignment, body positions, locomotor skills, group awareness, self-expression, and ballet vocabulary. Learn choreography of a lyrical/ballet style for communicating the Love of Jesus Christ.

BEGINNING JAZZ – 6-9 yrs. An introduction to the fundamentals of jazz movement that is both age-appropriate and modest. Students are encouraged to have fun in class while gaining an understanding of what is appropriate versus inappropriate movement. This class involves an introduction to the basic postures, stretches, and fundamental movements of jazz dance and includes warm-up, stretch, floor work, jazz technique, and across-the-floor combinations.

BEGINNING TAP – 6-9 yrs.
An introduction to the rhythmic fun of tap dancing through classic tap combinations and technique. Students will learn proper alignment, body positions, locomotor skill, group awareness, and self expression. An emphasis on rhythm, musicality, proper tap technique, and traditional tap styles is taught through a series of graded exercises designed to steadily
increase the student's proficiency.

RECREATIONAL
BALLET B – (formerly Ballet I) placement
For the students who have mastered Beginning Ballet and are prepared to move at a faster
pace. This class will be challenged with more complicated lyrical and ballet choreography.
Meets for 90 min./1x weekly.
BEGINNING/INTERMEDIATE BALLET – 10-12 yrs.
TEEN BEGINNING/INTERMEDIATE BALLET -13+ yrs.
Study the elements of ballet technique including proper alignment, body positions, locomotor skills, group awareness, self-expression, and ballet vocabulary. Learn choreography of a lyrical/ballet style for communicating the Love of Jesus Christ.

TEEN ADVANCED CONTEMPORARY BALLET -13+ ys
This style of dance often involves a great deal of working with balance, floor work, fall and recovery, and improvisation. The major part of contemporary dance is emotion. Students will learn to use their bodies in a variety of ways using the different genres of Modern, Jazz, Hip Hop and Lyrical based on a foundation in Ballet.

SPECIAL NEEDS 9+ yrs
Expressive Ballet/Jazz classes for children and adults with mild to moderate disabilities such
as autism, down syndrome, and cerebral palsy. The class encourages self expression, develops body awareness, and promotes positive self image while dancing for the King!

BEGINNING/INTERMEDIATE JAZZ – 10+ yrs.
TEEN INTERMEDIATE JAZZ – 13+ yrs.
FUNKY JAZZ – 10+ yrs.
Learn the fundamental movements of jazz dance with warm-up, stretch, floor work, jazz technique, and across-the-floor combinations. Students have fun while gaining an understanding of what is appropriate versus inappropriate movement. This is for the older student new to jazz or one who needs to continue working on basic technique in order to move into the next level.

BEGINNING TAP – 6-9 yrs.
INTERMEDIATE TAP – placement
FUNKY TAP – 10+ yrs.

BEGINNING HIP-HOP – 6-9 yrs.
INTERMEDIATE HIP-HOP – placement
ADVANCED HIP-HOP – placement
Learn a style of dance incorporating funky, modest choreography while combining many dance forms. Get a great workout while learning how to utilize the body’s full range of motion with energetic and explosive movements. Advancement is by placement only.

GRADED TECHNIQUE
BALLET II/ III / IV / V / PRE-PROFESSIONAL – placement
These classes will increase in difficulty at both barre and center floor work. Students will
develop increased strength and flexibility, beginning to go en pointe at teacher’s discretion.
Standards for pointe work will be very high. Meets for a minimum of 90 min./2x weekly. Pointe students meet for 90 min./3x weekly, preceding Ballet class. Placement in the Pre-Professional class is by invitation only.

POINTE – placement
Evaluation to determine readiness. Meets 30-45 min.Level II requirement 2x/weekly, level III-V minimum requirement 3x weekly immediately following Technique class.

BALAFROMOJAZZ I / II / III / IV /V– 8+ yrs. w/ placement
This is a unique concept of incorporating dance technique and different elements of movement from the four major concert dance idioms of Ballet, African, Modern, and Jazz into one exciting, free-flowing style of dance. This class is for the serious jazz student. Co-enrollment in a ballet class is required. Level I-III meets 90 min./1x weekly. Level IV/V meets 2 hrs. 1x/weekly.
