NEW! 2715 29th STREET

HIS Academy offers Pre-professional training in Ballet and Contemporary in a positive, safe environment, preparing students with post high school and professional aspirations.
Recreational classes (meet once a week) are also available for students ages 3-adult interested in a variety of classes taught throughout the week.
HIS Ensemble division consists of serious dancers who are proficient in ballet and ministry-minded. These dedicated members  bring the arts to the community while leaving a life changing impression on the heart. Dancers perform and minister in a mid-year production under the collaborative artistic direction of Tassia Johnson and Hannah Sullivan.
HIS outreach division goes out into the community on a regular basis ministering through dance. Our students are mentored to share their dance training, testimony and prayer with others. Groups are available to dance at special events, churches, schools, etc. Our Special Needs group, "God's Girls" is also a vital part of our outreach team- going out into the community, glorifying God and making a difference through dance.
New 2016, HIS Pre-Professional dancers under the direction of Hope Berghuis will also perform an additional 30 minute mid-year production  for Devos Children's Hospital and various school groups.

Will You Join Us?

Here are several ways you can get involved throughout the month of December!

Year End Giving Water Meter Project:
We have received notice of an unexpected upgrade required by the city to improve the capacity of our water meter. While the $13,000 cost and March 2017 deadline has come as a surprise to us, we are confident that God has a plan to help us get there.  We have seen Him work in amazing ways throughout our Capital Campaign and are resting in this knowledge as we face this "surprise" as well!

Kids Food Basket:
The Ensemble will be presenting Desert; A Good Samaritan Story March 11 & 12.  As we learn what it means to be a modern day Good Samaritan, we are asking our families and friends to help us fill the pantry at KFB.  Please bring your contribution to the studio during the first two weeks of December.  The Ensemble students will be volunteering at KFB in January and would like to fill their cars full to overflowing with the items we provide.

Refer A Preschool Student:
In January we have new preschool classes beginning on Saturday mornings.  This would make a great Christmas gift for your favorite 2-5 year old!  Register Here

Support The Heart of Dance while shopping on Amazon Smile:
With every eligible purchase, Amazon will donate 0.5% to The Heart of Dance (DBA as Hearts In Step)

We feel so blessed to be part of this amazing ministry and are so thankful for your support!
